Hardee’s has arguably one of the best all around burgers on the fast food scene. On some of the larger cities I know you can get better, but for the Midwest it is one of the better fast food burgers. Since their upgrade to their fresh baked bun, it really elevates their 100% Black Angus Beef Thickburger to a new level. Want to raise the bar even higher? How about Bacon and Moonshine Sauce!
“Sweet & Smoky Moonshine Sauce, Crispy Onion Straws & Applewood-Smoked Bacon Strips on a 100% Black Angus Beef patty all served on a Fresh Baked Bun.” – Hardee’s
Today I went with a 1/4 lb Thickburger. A 1/3 pound probably would have been better in this sense because the burger didn’t quite fill out the size of the fresh baked bun, but I didn’t want a sandwich quite that big for lunch so I lowered to a 1/4 lb patty. If I were to do it again, I’d spring for the larger patty and I’d suggest you should too!
The burger patty itself wasn’t the freshest or warmest but the Onion Straws, the Applewood smoked bacon, and the Moonshine Sauce make this a damn good burger. My only complaint about the additions is there wasn’t enough Moonshine Sauce on mine. You could get a hint of sweetness but more sauce would have been better so you really get a good taste of it every bite. If it’s in the name, I want it to be a prominent flavor. Hardee’s should serve some of this stuff on the side because I think dipping the fries in the sauce as well could have been very tasty.
If you enjoyed the Jim Beam Thickburger, you will enjoy this one too!
