Qdoba Knockout Tacos

Qdoba is running a new special with Knockout Tacos. You can have your choice of any three of their knockout tacos for $9. They are named the Drunken Yardbird, Mad Rancher, Two Timer, Triple Threat, The Gladiator, and Bohemian Veg. All six are a little different by having different meats or no meat, and different toppings and variations of spice level. Today I tried for you (from left to right) The Gladiator, Two Timer, and Mad Rancher.

The Gladiator is made with grilled steak, bacon, pico de gallo, lettuce, Mexican Caesar dressing, cilantro and Cotija cheese on a corn tortilla. The first thing I noticed when I bit in was the bacon. The bacon added a good taste with the Mexican Caesar dressing and made this an enjoyable taco.

The Two Timer is their take on the Taco Bell Double Decker. It’s made with pulled pork, salsa roja, shredded cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo and cotija cheese in a crispy taco shell. It doesn’t stop there either because that’s then wrapped in a flour tortilla with a 3 cheese queso spread. Their take on the Double Decker but taken to the next level with higher end ingredients. I really liked the taste of pork, but it could have been drained a little more as the juices from this was running out when you went to take a bite.

The Mad Rancher is made with Grilled Chicken Guacamole, picante ranch, lettuce, pico de gallo and cotija cheese on a corn tortilla. I wanted to do one with a different meat than steak and pork so I went with chicken on this one I thought this one was the least flavorful of the 3 that I tried. If I were to do it again, I think I would have went with the Drunken Yardbird for my chicken option instead. With Tequila Lime marinated chicken and salsa verde, I think it may have been a better option.

I enjoyed the high end ingredients of this and the customer service was great. I ate with my family and the guy answered all of our questions and did a good job to adjust all the meals according to the requested spice level requests. Very satisfied with Qboda customer service!
