Taco Bell Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch

Taco Bell has once again proven why they are king of the fast food mashup game by introducing the Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Taco Bell’s  regular Cheesy Gordita Crunch is a crunchy taco with seasoned beef, lettuce, 3 cheese blend and spicy ranch wrapped in a gordita shell that is layered with cheese. With this, you get the Double Decker experience but with cheesy isntead of beans and a fluffy shell instead of a soft tortilla shell. What could make this better you might as? How about adding a Doritos Locos Taco of your choice INSIDE the cheesy gordita shell to give you Cheesy Gordita Crunch even more flavor? I’m in! Are you??

The Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch can be purchased on its own for $2.99 or can be purchased in a combo box with a Beef Burrito Supreme, Crunchy Taco and a drink for $6. Not that it’s not a good deal, the $6 box just seems like too much food for me for lunch so I’m just going to sample the new item.. the Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

I’ll start by saying this was one of the best new Taco Bell items I’ve had in a while. The meat was hot.. the cheese was melted and it actually made eating a Doritos Locos Taco actually enjoyable. If you have had the same luck as I have, if you let them sit too long, they stay together but they get soft and sofft.. If you eat them right away, the Doritos shells are too brittle on their own and a bite or two into it, they are falling apart. Getting the opportunity to wrap a Doritos taco in a warm, soft gordita shell is beyond great. If you Doritos taco falls apart, everything is still contained. You also get the great taste of a Cheesy Gordita Crunch but you can add whatever flavor of Doritos shell to the inside. So if you are feeling cheesy, cool ranchy, or spicy, you can have it whatever way you want to fit your flavor profile of the day!

This was a great item and at an “ok” price tag. $2.99 seemed a little high since they are very good items on their $1 menu but this is definitely worth giving it a go while it is out!
