Burger King Homestyle Cheeseburger

New to Burger King’s menu this time around isn’t a mashup for the first time in a while. Burger King is going simple.. but simple in a good way! Burger King has introduced a Homestyle Cheeseburger that is a ¼ lb of savory flame-grilled beef and a simple layer of melted American cheese, topped with crunchy pickles, yellow mustard and ketchup on a soft sesame seed bun. This is a great add to the menu for someone who doesn’t want all the veggies that come on the Whopper, but they still want a ¼ lb flame grilled patty. This item went straight to BK’s numbered menu so you would have to think that it isn’t just a promo item, but something that is going to be around for a while.

While I was eating, I overheard the workers in the back saying they changed up the menu today so I knew this was a new addition today. What the luck! As you can tell from my picture, they didn’t quite know exactly what went on this sandwich as I also was given a few onions on top of mine. Not that I cared, I just wanted to point out that this was a little different from the normal sandwich that you might receive. In my opinion, the onion should absolutely be on there. It shocked me to realize that my sandwich was actually incorrectly made because it was very good the way it was. I will note though, this was one of the best put together sandwiches I’ve ever received. I’m not just talking about at Burger King, but in all of fast food. Perfectly laying the cheese and separating the pickles so you got a little bit of everything in every bite. Kudos to BK!

Overall taste was pretty good. As always, the burger could have used a little more flavor. It’s a shame when you go somewhere and they flame grill your burgers, but you are still missing that flame grilled flavor. The bun was fresh and toasted up nicely and just enough condiments to taste but not so much its a mess to eat.

I love the new addition to BK. It’s simple but really works! My vote is for the Burger King Homestyle Cheeseburger on this Election Day!
