Wendy’s Taco Salad

I remember years ago when this was at Wendy’s but I never had the nerve to try it. Luckily for me though, the Taco Salad is back at Wendy’s and I can finally put this to the test! Wendy’s Taco Salad is topped with their famous chili, shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, chunky salsa, and yellow corn tortilla rounds for a salad that’s anything but ordinary. You can also top the Taco Salad with sour cream if you choose as they provide that in packets on the side.

As you can tell, this is a little different from a normal taco salad as this doesn’t contain taco flavored ground beef but instead its topped with a scoop of chili to give you the taste of cumin and chili powder. As you can imagine, it really doesn’t have the taste and feel of a true taco salad because of it. It tastes exactly how you might thing.. like a plain ol’ salad with a scoop of chili on it. Nothing special at all. Even with adding the salsa or sour cream, I still couldn’t get past that it really doesn’t feel like you are eating a taco salad but more just combo of salad and chili. I’m really surprised they even get away with calling this a “taco salad”.

Now it’s not to say that this may not be just me as I was in Wendy’s for approximately 20 minutes and I saw several of these getting ordered. I don’t know if these were people who have had these before and loved them and are ordering again or someone who was an unlucky soul like myself that was ordering it for the first time. I really found this as a disappointment though and its safe to say that I would never order it again.

Proceed with caution! Not a TACO SALAD!
