I have been to Fiddlestiks before and performed a review of their Buffalo Chips. These were homemade chips that were piled high with buffalo chicken to form some of the best buffalo chicken nachos I’ve ever had. Feel free to read the review for that in the attached link above. I thought these were so good that my return review trip to Fiddlestiks was for a similar item and that is their Buffalo Chicken Salad.
The Buffalo Chicken Salad is bite size chunks of chicken marinated in buffalo wing sauce, lettuce mix, tomatoes, shredded cheese, sliced egg & croutons. As with all salads on their menu, this is served on the side with one of their Fiddlestiks. For those that don’t know, a Fiddlestik is essentially a mozzarella cheese filled bosco stick.
The first thing you need to know about the salads is that they are enormous! Pictured is a full size salad but it really does no justice for the truly immense size of the salad. Any normal person would be fine with just ordering the lunch sized portion of this but with just over a dollar difference between the full and the half sizes, I sprung for the full-sized but it definitely was NOT needed.
As far as the actually taste of the salad, the lettuce was fresh and crisp and had a nice amount of toppings. I was surprised that you received an entire sliced egg on top of this salad as well. If I had any complaint from the salad, it would have been the buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken could have been cut into smaller pieces as some of these were fairly large hunks that I had to cut myself. There was also not really any extra buffalo sauce on the chicken at all and had a just a mild heat to it. Even with those small issues, this was a great salad and a great dinner!
I’ve had two buffalo chicken dishes in two trips to Fiddlestiks in Hannibal, MO. I’ll absolutely be going back and will be branching out a little bit the next time to try something completely different. Let me know if there is something that I should try here and review!
